Welcome!

I am a musician, Mac geek, web developer, and musical intonation freak. In addition to my musical and digital pursuits I enjoy stream fishing, gardening, my pond, and strategy games. I'm not much into television, but I'll watch the occasional movie or football game (especially when the San Francisco 49ers are playing). As an erstwhile web programmer I also like to experiment with new (at least to me) techniques in CSS and PHP programming, for which this site provides a handy outlet. The menu on the right side of this page activates different "skins" I've been playing with lately. More will be added later. A trained designer I am not, but I'm working on it. :-)

Web Design

I design and host web sites. Not many as yet, but I have decided to embark into this field because I enjoy it, because I think I understand what my musician friends want in a web site, and because I see a lot of poorly organized, inaccessible, web sites that load slowly and feature a glut of unnecessary features.

Geek Central

I am building this section for my friends and colleagues. It is a clearing house for the stuff I often repeat in conversations with people about their computers.

Intonation

Music is a big part of my life. Though I have a day job I have kept practicing my trumpet and playing music jobs when I can. Another musical passion for me is intonation. Too many people who should be able to do it don't even know what it really is. I have come to the conclusion that our music education system is in need of adjustment in this area. To explain myself and promote this I have written an Intonation section (see above). It isn't even close to finished, but there is enough for people to play with and get an idea of what I have in mind. I hope you enjoy it.

Photography

I am an amateur photographer and compulsive documentarian. Maybe it's because I grew up without much family history around and I'm trying to make up for it. This section is a potpourri of photos, from home and family to music, and even a few "art" shots.
